About this role

ST Health Tri Rivers is hiring a casual Licensed Practical Nurse, OP to join their team. In this position, you will work up to 12-15 hours/week during weekday, daylight hours. This position will support 8 Rheumatology and Osteoporosis providers with rooming patients, responding to patient messages, refilling prescriptions, scheduling, completing medication authorizations and patient assistance forms, along with scanning documentation. Occasional travel to other office locations may be needed. 

ST Health Tri Rivers is a multi-specialty office with a growing rheumatology an osteoporosis division. There is room for growth within the department and free parking available at all locations.


Responsibilities:
 

  • Draw blood.
  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
  • Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Assess patient’s general condition and take vital signs and weight.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. 
  • One year clinical experience preferred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

     
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Act 34

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
